Policies
Article I. Mission Statement
1.01 Mission
The mission of Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com (hereinafter referred to as “Virtual Airline”) is to promote aviation and aviation education using Flight Simulator and the virtual environment of VATSIM.net as a combined platform for pilots using these computer based technologies to learn, and apply to the real world of aviation, using actual aircraft operating manuals, and actual flight training materials available to the public from retired Captains, pilots, consultants, and all who have the desire to pursue an aviation career as an Airline Transport Pilot. It is Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com intent to become a virtual airline leader in flight training, airline operations, and all aspects of the demands needed to becoming a career pilot virtually and for the real world.
Article II. Employment Requirements
2.01 Virtual Pilot
(1) Candidate must be a minimum of 15 years of age.
(2) Candidate must complete and submit an application for his or her virtual employment with CAA
(3) Candidate must possess, at the time of his or her application and during his or her virtual employment a VATSIM.net ID# and assigned pilot ID# and password.
(4) Candidate must possess, a valid e-mail address and agree to check his or her e-mails regularly, and if requests are made, to respond in a timely manner.
(5) Candidate virtual pilot must file his or her PIREP within the first 14 days of his virtual employment.
(6) The Candidate as of the date of acceptance, upon which his or her hub manager will provide further expectations as to the duties of a line pilot, or management pilot outlined in an e-mail.
(7) Candidate must not have any negative disciplinary record(s) with VATSIM.net or with any other virtual airline of which he or she was a member. Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com reserves the right to deny, decline, any person(s), for being known to create virtual disturbances or forum disturbances.
(8) Candidate must understand that either his or her track is by real world standards or VATSIM.net virtual airline standards; Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com will use most of the time real world Part 121 Air Carrier standards.
2.02 Executive Management
(a) All Officers, Directors, executive staff must be 18 years of age to perform their respective duties as required by the Chief Executive Officer, President of Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com.
(b) All Candidates will be appointed on his or her merits, by experience or by performance over a period of time and must have a recommendation from an executive staff member or hub manager and senior line pilot.
(c) Board of Directors, Vice-Presidents, and Hub Managers will be appointed as stated in paragraph 2.02 (a), (b) of this section.
Article III. Communications
3.01 Executive Management, Staff, Line Pilots
(a) All members will be required to maintain a valid e-mail address and all appropriate messages; communications will be made through its use. All members will be required to make a post in the forums and contact his or her hub manger or assigned pilot during his or her probation period.
Article IV. Active Membership and Status Requirements
4.01 Requirements
(a) All members shall be subject to the following requirements in order to maintain their respective status.
1. All pilots in the first fourteen (14) days of membership must make at least one flight to meet the requirements of Article IV. 4.01 Sec 3 of the policy manual.
2. All new and current pilot members are subject to Article 4.01 Sec. (1), (2), (3), (4) of this policy manual and the policies of VATSIM.net; failure to comply with these policies will mean termination without notice.
Article V. VATSIM and Virtual Airline Experience
5.01 Initial Hours
(a) Upon acceptance, approval of the new member’s application the candidate will be credited for his or her flight experience based upon a valid claim of verification of his or her flight hours.
(b) Celestial Air will credit you with 25% of your verifiable hours upon verification by a flight logbook provided by the candidate to Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com.
(c) The pilot candidate will be required based upon their application selection to fly either the Boeing 757 or Boeing 737..
(d) Any candidate will select an airframe of their choice regardless of hours.
(e) The candidate or member maybe subject to flight training to improve his or her Flight Simulator skills and increase his or her knowledge and flight hours.
5.02 Pilots, Managements Removal from Roster
(a) A member can be removed by Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com executive management for violations of the VATSIM.net rules and regulations and for not conducting oneself in a proper and professional manner while acting as a virtual representative of Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com for cause or without cause, pending any actions by notification via the pilots e-mail.
(b) A member pilot or management not meeting his or her voluntary commitment to Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com will be terminated after one consecutive month of no activity.
(c) All members can appeal within 10 days of notification of his or her termination, failing to state his or her claim will result in the original decision.
Article VI. PIREP’s and Flight Activities
6.01 Online Requirements and Offline Requirements
(a) Each pilot will be required to use the Celestial Air Virtual pilot ACARS system to file his or her reports for credit to their respective flight logbook.
(b) All pilots are required to fly each simulation at 1X mode.
(c) All pilots must comply with all VATSIM.net rules and Regulations while flying online.
(d) If a pilot finds him or her needing an extended break, they must disconnect from the VATSIM.net network and Internet.
(e) If flying offline pilots may take a break of 30 minutes, after this the flight will be void and the bid deleted.
(f) Please file accordingly, based upon the ACARS System being used.
(g) All reporting times are (gate to gate), (block to block), and all time formats are in Zulu Time or the 24hr clock.
Article VII. Pilots Rank and Compensation, Callsigns
7.01 Pilots Rank
(a) Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com will base in pilot’s ranks on the real world which is by (seniority, flight logbook time) that begins from date of hire, the pilot with the furthest date back is the most senior, the pilot with the earliest date is less senior.
7.02 Virtual Pilot Compensation
(a) Each pilot according to his or her flight logbook will be positioned according to his total hours and experience.
(b) By type or by experience.
(c) As seen on the web site in Certifications.
7.03 Callsigns
(a) All pilot members and management flying virtually will use the assigned flight number and not the members Roster ID# as identification when engaged in flying online.
(b) All pilot members will try to promote Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com while online and whenever possible, staying within repectful boundries.
Article VIII. VA Memberships and Staff and Executive Management
8.01
(a) All Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com pilot members and staff are not subject to sharing any confidential information with other virtual airlines or networks during the duration of his or her employment as a virtual pilot or staff member.
(b) Any pilot or staff member releasing of any private information without prior written or verbal permission of the CEO or victim will be subject to the full extent of the law of Massachusetts for violating the confidentially agreement, copy rights agreement, and intellectual property rights agreement of Celestial Air and Celestial Air Virtual.com, and maybe subject to a legal action.
Article IX. Leave of Absence
9.01 Requests for Leave of Absence
(a) All members are requested to make notification to management for any leaves of absence lasting more that 30 days via e-mail to management or hub mangers.
(b) Leave of absence is valid for up to 90 days, U.S. service members may be exempt from this 90 day limit.
10.1 DUE PROCESS RIGHTS:
A. Pilot subject to Suspension- When a pilot is being considered for suspension by an administrator.
1. The pilot will be informed via e-mail of the potential suspension and the reasons for the proposed action.
2. The pilot is given the opportunity of an informal hearing to bring forth their case against the intended suspension and explain their actions in the matter.
3. The pilot will be informed via e-mail if a suspension is issued.
B. Pilot subject to termination- When a pilot is being considered for removal from Celestial Air Virtual by an administrator.
1. The pilot will be informed via e-mail of the potential termination and the reasons for the proposed action.
2. The pilot will be brought into a hearing between that pilot another representative and chosen administrators in order to give the pilot the time to explain their actions.
3. Administrators will meet in an emergency board meeting to discuss the possible removal from Celestial Air Virtual.
4. The pilot will be informed via e-mail the have been removed from the roster.
11.1 ANTI-HARASSMENT POLICY:
A. It is the policy of Celestial Air to maintain and educational and work friendly environment which is free from all forms of unlawful harassment. The commitment applies to all aspects of Celestial Air. Celestial Air will vigorously enforce prohibition against harassment based on sex, race, color, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other unlawful basis.
Violations of the Anti-Harassment Policy:
1. Harassing someone based on the reasons above.
2. Retaliating against a person who has made a report or filed a complaint alleging harassment, or who has participated as a witness in a harassment investigation.
3. Filing a knowingly false report or complaint against someone for harassment.
4. Failing to investigate a complaint or delaying an investigation regarding harassment.
12.1 RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE:
A. Celestial Air recognizes that it serves a diverse and multicultural community. Celestial Air recognizes that the United States constitution guarantees the right of free exercise of religion. Celestial Air respects the right of conscience and belief that all individuals enjoy. Celestial Air encourages the recognition and celebration of all religions that remains lawful under United States law. Celestial Air strictly adheres to the constitutional principles outlined in the United States constitution as they have been defined by the courts. It is realized that the United States constitution does not answer all questions and it is Celestial Air’s belief that a diverse community committed to tolerance is best served by open discussion, respectful exchange of viewpoints, and a collective effort toward understanding.
